Bulawayo based artists Sakhile Nomagugu Pilah also known by her stage name Sakhie, is a 26 year old contemporary urban Gospel singer, who is on mission of bringing many closer to God through gospel music.

Raised by a single mother, Sakhie developed a unique understanding of music and theatre which led her to modelling, acting and singing. Her passion for music and self-expression through theatre has helped her manage to conquer some of the darkest phases from her early childhood.

Fighting for her dream since 2010, she became a backing vocalist for local artists that includes Tafadzwa Jehuthan Lunga before joining a gospel choral group called One Accord. “Being on stage motivated and challenged me to break barriers and set a new standard. At some point i also faced pressure from my family who were against my dream although my mother later became the greatest influence of my strength till today. I love God with my all heart and my mission is to spread the Gospel through my music” ,Sakhie told Bano in an interview with Bhekinkosi Tshuma.

The gospel star believes gospel is not just an art form but a language that brings you closer to God and make you feel his presence in our lives. Sakhie is inspired by gospel music of Britt Nicole, Terrain, Tasha Cobbs and Mathew West.

“Iam also pleased to announce the launch of a brand new single ‘Date with the King’ which i wrote as a personal testament to my relationship with God. This is a celebration of the precious time we get to spend with the creator”.
